Across/Over: Colonial Agencies Rewriting the texts

This issue of the Dost Critical Series focuses on contemporary India and its links with the cultural heritage of Hinduism. More essays deal with the Orientalist image of the Indian woman and how Tagore re-reads, in comparison with Soyinka, Greek classical tragedy. Two more articles concern a dictionary in progress in Indian English and a lexical reading of an Indian novel in English. A few poems by Anita Nair conclude the issue.
