Intonation Analysis on Some Samples of Italian Dialects: an Instrumental Approach

Prosody is a crucial factor in the dialectal identification but it has received so far little attention in the major research fields. This work aims at investigating the geoprosodic variation of some dialectal areas of Italy by means of a dialectometrical approach; it highlights the main differences in terms of prosodic features. This kind of analysis allows the description of the geoprosodic variation by means of a common protocol and the representation of the prosodic affinity of the analysed samples.
